Weekly Brazos River Outlook – May 23, 2022

The Brazos River is currently at Gage Elevation 9.11 feet. The WGRFC anticipates the Brazos River through Richmond peaking around Gage Elevation 11 due to the rainfall received and the rain forecast over the next 24 hours. The region has the potential for severe weather and heavy rainfall Tuesday morning with increased rain changes through Wednesday. After Wednesday, we should see the return of sunny to mostly sunny skies through the weekend. The 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving between 2 to 3 inches of rainfall over the next 7 days with the majority of that rainfall occurring over the next 24 to 48 hours. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
