Weekly Brazos River Outlook – Aug 2, 2021

Currently, the Brazos River in Richmond is at Gage Elevation 15.39 feet and falling. We have a weak cold front moving through the region today which will increase our rain chances through Tuesday. The rainfall amounts are generally low; however, the system could bring heavy rainfall into the region. Isolated areas could see rainfall rates between 2 to 3 inches per hour which could cause minor street ponding. After Tuesday, our rain chances fall with temperatures in the low to mid 90s. The 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving between ¼ to 1 ½ inches of rain over the next 7 days. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
