As of 7:15 AM on January 22, 2024, the Brazos River in Richmond is at Gage Elevation 9.66 feet. Based on rainfall that has occurred since early this morning and the rainfall in the forecast over the next 24 hours, the West Gulf River Forecast Center is predicting the Brazos River in Richmond to reach Action Stage later this week. Much of the lower Brazos River watershed has received between 0.2 to just over 2 inches since early this morning. The NWS Forecast is calling for extended periods of rain, showers and thunderstorms through Wednesday. Daily rainfall amounts from Monday to Wednesday could average 1 to 3 inches across the Region. The 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving approximately 5 inches of rain over the next 7 days. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
