Weekly Brazos River Outlook – Sep. 11, 2023

Currently, the Brazos River in Richmond remains low at Gage Elevation 7.99 feet. After another hot weekend, the NWS forecast includes cooler temperatures for the week with highs in the mid- to upper 90s and lows in the mid- to low 70s. In additional to the cooler weather, much of the State of Texas has increased rain changes throughout the entire week. The 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving between ½ to 3 inches of rain over the next 7 days. The heaviest amounts of rainfall will occur upstream of College Station into north Texas. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
