Weekly Brazos River Outlook – June 27, 2022

The Brazos River remains low and is currently at Gage Elevation 8.74 feet in Richmond. The region will get a break from the heat has a week frontal boundary pushes through the region on Monday. Due to the frontal boundary, increasing moisture, surface heating, and disturbances, our chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms increase throughout the week. The 48-Hour Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving between ¼ and 1 inch of rainfall while the 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving between ½ to 2 inches over the next 7 days. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
