As of 9:15 AM on January 8, 2024, the Brazos River in Richmond is at Gage Elevation 11.49 feet and is anticipated to rise to Gage Elevation 11.9 feet. The NWS Forecast is calling for severe weather to move through the Houston Region Monday, January 8 with the biggest threats being strong winds and hail with the possibility of isolated tornadoes. After Monday’s severe weather, rain chances remain low but increase toward the end of the week. The 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving approximately ½ inch of rain over the next 7 days. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
