Weekly Brazos River Outlook – Apr 04, 2022

Currently, the Brazos River at Richmond is at Gage Elevation 12.78 feet and continuing to fall from rainfall occurring over the past couple of weeks. The NWS gives Fort Bend County a Marginal Risk for severe weather on Monday (April 4) afternoon. The forecast shows the most severe weather to our north with the main severe weather threat being strong winds associated with the line of thunderstorms. After Monday, the majority of the week should consist of sunny skies with high temperatures reaching 90° on Tuesday before a front pushes through Wednesday/Thursday bringing cooler, drier weather through the weekend.  The 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving ¼ inch or less of rain over the next 7 days. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
