Weekly Brazos River Outlook

The Brazos River in Richmond is currently at Gage Elevation 10.42 and continuing to fall from the slight rise that occurred last week. Based on the 7-day extended forecast, no flooding along the Brazos River is anticipated.

This Week

We can expect relativity dry and warm conditions over the next 3 to 4 days as we wait for our next cold front to arrive toward the end of the week. As it approaches, our chance for rain increases with our highest chance occurring on Thursday. Overall much of the State of Texas is anticipated to get some rainfall over the next 7 days. Based on the forecasts, the lower Brazos River Watershed could see around a quarter of an inch with Fort Bend County potentially receiving as much as 0.5 to 0.75 inches. The majority of this rainfall could occur Thursday evening into early Friday morning.
