Fridayb s Storms
Northern portions of Texas did receive 3 to 6 inches of rainfall that caused minor river flooding. Locally, Fort Bend County and much of the lower Brazos River watershed received between 0.5 to 1.5 inches. We are experiencing a small rise in the Brazos River; however, our current levels remain lower than our historical averages for this time of the year. The good news is that this system did provide some much needed drought relief across east and central Texas; however, the Brazos River watershed reservoirs continue to be on average 1 to 5 feet below their normal conservation pool elevations.
This Week
After a cool weekend, much of our week will include warm, muggy weather. Today highs will hit in the upper 60s with the remainder of the week hitting the mid to upper 70s before our next cold front arrives the weekend. With the warm, muggy weather, our rain chances throughout the week will remain between 20 to 40%. Rain accumulation amounts should remain less than 1.0 inches over the next 7 days for the majority of Fort Bend County and most of the lower Brazos River watershed.
