Fort Bend County LID 14 is currently monitoring Tropical
Storm Nicholas. The District’s Operator and Engineer are in watch conditions
and are on standby to operate the District’s facilities as needed.
The NWS will include much of the region, including Fort Bend County, under a Flash Flood Watch starting Sunday evening through Tuesday. Based on the current forecasts, the region could see average rainfall amounts between 5 to 10 inches with isolated higher amounts. Street ponding is possible due to periods of short duration, high intensity rainfall. At this time, a major flood event on the Brazos River is not anticipated; however, we could experience elevated levels on the Brazos River through Fort Bend County. Please note that rain and river forecasts are subject to change based on the actual development and path of Tropical Storm Nicholas. We encourage residents to remain weather aware by following their preferred weather source (i.e. National Weather Service, Space City Weather, and Local News). If you have not already done so, please sign up for email/text alerts from the District at https://fbclid14.org/alerts/ and Fort Bend County at https://fbcoem.org/fbcalert/.
