Over the past week, the lower Brazos River watershed received between 2 to 5 inches of rainfall which caused the Brazos River to rise above Action Stage in Richmond and Sugar Land. The Richmond Gage peaked at Gage Elevation 20.44 feet on Saturday night and is currently at Gage Elevation 19.08 feet. The Brazos River could remain slightly elevated around Action Stage through mid-week and should start to fall toward the end of the week. The NWS Forecast includes mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with low rain chances through Friday. There is an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico that could shift close enough to the Texas coast producing some scattered showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday but the forecast shows the heaviest rainfall remaining in the Gulf and east of the Region. The 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving less than 1 inch over the next 7 days. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
