Weekly Brazos River Outlook – Feb 06, 2023

Currently, the Brazos River in Richmond is at Gage Elevation 18.28 feet and continuing to rise from rainfall that occurred over the past week. The WGRFC anticipates the Brazos River cresting below Action Stage around Gage Elevation 18.7 feet. The NWS forecast includes a front that will pass through the Region late Tuesday evening / early Wednesday morning.  Ahead of the front, the Region is expected to receive widespread rainfall amounts between ½ to 2 inches from Tuesday into Wednesday. The 7-Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is showing the lower Brazos River Watershed receiving between 1 to 2 inches inch over the next 7 days. Based on the current forecast, no flooding due to the Brazos River through Fort Bend County is anticipated.
